Communication

The current technological scenario brings times and distances together, enables meetings of the most diverse communities, and provides the most different forms of interaction. On the other hand, it also shares information without a scientific basis, disseminates false news as true, and requires increased discernment and caution in the way in which information is accessed, produced, and reproduced. Therefore, increased curricula and pedagogical proposals have been presenting strategies to support students to develop their communication.

The innate ability of people, which can be developed and qualified throughout life, communication comes in different formats (oral, written, non-verbal, etc.) and is built in a variety of contexts and a set of capacities, such as, speaking in public, correctly interpreting information, listening to others, respecting the diversity of contexts, opinions, and worldviews, knowing how to properly use and navigate the universe of media and social networks, understanding a given subject, deciphering its meaning and the values, attitudes, and intentions related to it, inform or instruct someone.

Communication: a key element for solving complex problems

In Samsung Solve for Tomorrow, Communication emerges in the reference to soft skills and the 4Cs (acronym in English for Creativity, Critical Thinking, Communication, and Collaboration), competencies for the 21st century, such as those necessary for contemporary students to conduct their journeys of learning, and fundamental for the resolution of complex social problems. Communication is valued as a necessary skill to solve and face local and global problems and challenges, highlighting, for example, the exercise of attentive listening to the affected community, understanding and appreciation of collective knowledge, adequate identification of pertinent information, systematization of ideas and the presentation and conviction of the community about the affected problem. Integrated with the different stages of the program’s formative journey, knowledge, practices, and communication tools become a fundamental object of work for students and teachers.
